Frequently asked Questions
Do you provide psychological services, assessments, tutoring, or therapy?
No. Accessible Education provides educational consultation services to parents, families, and professionals. The services provided by Accessible Education are strictly for informational purposes only and do not constitute psychological or mental health services, nor do they involve the provision of psychological or educational assessments. Accessible Education offers services solely in the areas of parent support, education advocacy, and educational consultation with professionals. We do not diagnose/identify or treat any mental health or academic conditions. We recommend consulting a licensed healthcare or educational professional for psychological, mental health, or diagnostic services.
Do you provide legal services or advice?
No. Accessible Education does not provide legal services or legal advice. However, we support parents and guardians by helping them navigate the special education and Section 504 processes within the school setting. Our services focus on non-attorney advocacy, education, and guidance to empower parents to understand their rights and responsibilities and to collaborate effectively with schools. For legal advice or representation, we recommend consulting an attorney who specializes in education or disability law.
Can you recommend a licensed healthcare provider, therapist, or lawyer to help me?
Maybe. Accessible Education has strong connections in the community and may be able to provide some referral information. However, we encourage parents to do their own research when seeking recommendations. At a minimum, we can help you ask the right questions to find providers that best suit your family’s needs.
Can you attend an ARD/IEP, Section 504, or problem-solving meeting at my child’s school with me?
Yes. Accessible Education can support parents and guardians during school meetings. We believe that parents are the most effective advocates for their children, so our primary goal is to prepare and empower you to confidently communicate with the school and advocate on your child’s behalf. We focus on equipping you with the tools and knowledge needed before any meeting. However, if you’ve attended meetings on your own and faced challenges in achieving productive outcomes, we can join you to help facilitate collaboration and ensure the best possible results for your child.
We offer in-person support for meetings in the Austin metro area. For an additional fee based on location and travel time, we can also attend in-person meetings across Texas. Additionally, we are available for virtual meetings nationwide.
