About our Principal Consultant
Accessible Education is led by our founder and principal consultant, who holds Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) degrees from the University of Texas at Austin in addition to a Specialist in School Psychology (SSP) from Texas State University. After graduating from UT, she spent several years in non-profit administration before devoting six years to being a stay-at-home parent while volunteering as a PTA President, PTA Treasurer, and Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA).
Upon returning to the workforce, she served as a Parent Support Specialist in local elementary schools, where she discovered her passion for empowering families to actively engage in their children's educational journeys. While navigating the Section 504 and Special Education processes for her own child, she encountered significant challenges, despite her familiarity with public schools and advocacy efforts. Determined to find effective solutions, she committed herself to extensive research and learning.
Through her efforts, she eventually secured services for her child. Inspired by her difficult experiences and positive interactions with dedicated assessment professionals, she pursued further education to assist other families facing similar challenges. She earned her Specialist in School Psychology degree (SSP) from Texas State University, with a concentration in Autism Spectrum Disorder. As a graduate student, she was honored to serve as her campus' Student Leader for the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and co-authored two peer-reviewed articles, one of which she presented at the annual NASP conference.
After graduation, she worked as a school psychologist, providing psychoeducational assessments, counseling services for special education students, and teacher consultations. She quickly advanced to a district-level role, where she supported administrative needs and critical cases for a large evaluation team that included school psychologists, educational diagnosticians, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, behavior specialists, and others.
With extensive experience in both education and administration, she founded Accessible Education in 2022 to merge her non-profit management skills with her passion for public education. Her most recent consulting engagement involved collaborating with a large urban district as a Subject Matter Expert and Process Improvement Consultant. In this role, she supported the planning and implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and served as a liaison between operational staff (IT, HR, and Finance) and educational programmatic staff, facilitating effective communication and collaboration. Her technical expertise spans data integration, quality, governance, and analytics, particularly with Student Information and Learning Management Systems to meet Texas Student Data System (TSDS), Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS), and State Performance Plan (SPP) compliance and reporting requirements.
In 2024, yearning for the fulfilling experience of working directly with families, our founder expanded Accessible Education’s services to include parent/family support and advocacy. By doing so, she aims to help families navigate the educational landscape with confidence and compassion. We invite you to reach out and discover how we can support you on your journey.
